Excavator Attachment Repairs

Crack and structural repairs for excavator attachments at our Ravenhall workshop.

Heavy-duty earthmoving equipment undergoes intense structural stress on the job, making specialised welding and fabrication repairs essential for restoring performance and extending machine lifespans.

Our workshop handles complete attachment overhauls and structural rebuilds, including repairing damaged grapple ears and structural reinforcement of cracked excavator dipper arms using custom-welded fish plates.

How we repair cracked or damaged Attachments

For example, a Stiff arm is subject to constant load and vibration, and cracks tend to start small before growing if left unrepaired. We start by cleaning the area and grinding back to sound material so the full extent of any crack is visible, then prepare the area for welding.

Repairs are carried out using flux core MIG welding wire with LPG pre-heating, built up in passes to restore the original strength of the component. Once welded, the repair is finished and checked before the arm goes back into service.

We also specialise in major component rebuilds—such as Caterpillar 836 landfill compactor wheel and drum rebuilds complete with new tip removal, fitting, and high-strength welding—as well as bent hook lift truck subframes and window demolition guard fabrications.

Whether fixing worn linkages, structural fatigue, or severe impact damage, every repair is executed to structural standards to minimise costly job-site downtime and return your machinery to peak operational reliability.
