Why waterjet cutting suits form ply
Waterjet cutting gives form ply a clean, accurate edge with no splintering on cross-grain cuts — something a saw can struggle with on detailed shapes or curved profiles. It’s a good option when you need a precise custom panel shape that would be slow or difficult to cut by hand.
As with any process involving water and layered timber products, very thick panels can occasionally pick up a small amount of moisture at the cut edge. We finish every job carefully to minimise this, and we’re upfront with you about what to expect for your specific panel thickness and application before we cut.

We cut to minimise any moisture pickup at the edge, and for most jobs this isn't an issue. On thicker panels, talk to us about your application and we'll let you know what to expect.
Can you cut custom shapes, not just straight panels?
Yes — that's where waterjet cutting adds the most value over a saw, particularly for curved or detailed profiles.
Do I need a file, or can I just describe the shape?
Either is fine — send a DXF file if you have one, or describe what you need and we'll work out the cutting file from there.
